Alexandre Meerson is thrilled to reveal International Rugby talent Adam Ashley-Cooper as the British fine watches brand’s very first ambassador.
Born in Sydney in 1984, the outside back stalwart is one of only five Australian players to have reached the prestigious 100-game milestone. Widely regarded as one of the most versatile players in Rugby Union, he is also part of an elite group of players to have recorded 50 wins for the Wallabies – this landmark reached against Italy in 2013. To date only David Campese has scored more tries for Australia against the All Blacks.
The announcement of his ambassadorship follows the news that Ashley-Cooper will depart Waratah’s and join Bordeaux following the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Adam Ashley-Cooper will wear the MEERSON D15. Alexandre Meerson’s new sport inspired dual-time traveller’s watch.
Alexandre Meerson commented: “I feel at once humbled and honoured to have such an exceptional talent associated with our brand and in particular the D15. The house of Meerson is inspired by values of integrity and boldness, and by men and women who practise their craft with relentless determination, while our style is a subtle balance of strength and finesse. This is why rugby is such a perfect match for us. We look forward to working with Adam.”
The MEERSON D15 has launched just in time for the 2015 World Cup in the UK, where Adam will serve as Vice-Captain of the Australian team. It has been created to be a both rugged and beautiful watch, balancing form, dual-time function and practicality. Built of rugged, high-grade titanium and waterproof to 100m, this watch can perform with precision in the most challenging conditions. At 44mm in diameter, it makes a statement, but with its subtle styling it is a refined piece.
