Conceptual design is rarely executed well in the watch world. Ambassadors have a stab at a limited edition or a designer plays with painting a dial but in this case the intricacies of pop art are re-imagined in exquisite detail and applied in miniature. Meerson pushes boundaries with ‘Girl in a Mirror’. The original creation by Roy Lichtenstein was a porcelain enamel on steel painting using Ben-Day dots inspired by the New York subway and created in 1964. He takes a portion - the mouth - and homes in, in a sensuous homage to the original at the behest of a private client.
The research and execution required to make this exceptional watch inspired an expanded offering of 100 pop art pieces in a limited release. Owners can choose from 6 original dials, either solid gold or polished titanium, made to measure straps in premium materials and personal engraving. The boldness is sublime and very popular with his collectors.
